The "A List"

Dr. Daniel E. Shapiro, director of the Medical Humanities Program at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, received a two-year associate professorship in medical humanism from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation.
Shapiro, who also is a UA associate professor of clinical psychiatry and psychology and a clinical psychologist, was honored for his work in developing the "Patients as Teachers, Medical Students as Film Makers: Video Project" or "Video Slam Project," the first course of its kind offered at a U.S. medical college. The Arnold P. Gold Professorships recognize the significance of excellent role-model physicians in the training of new doctors.
